Establishing the value of standing timber is important, particularly when considering disposing of or acquiring land with timber. For a reliable understanding of the timber’s value, this must be done by a professional with the necessary skills, using appropriate methods. Sound calculations of timber volumes and current market prices can be used to calculate the current value of the forest products held within your trees.

Here’s how it works:

-Your forester will consult with you to understand the information you require.

-The property will be mapped using GIS, and sample points will be generated at which tree measurements will be taken in the field.

-At each sample point, tree measurements will be taken along with information such as the trees' species and the products they contain.

-From this information, total forest product volume estimates can be calculated, and value can be determined using current market prices.
